Bashir Al-Assad used chemical weapons against civilians in Syria, only days after POTUS suggested that he be allowed to stay in power. Both of our Senators have condemned the attack, yet neither supports allowing Syrian refugees to resettle in the United States.
While Trump’s executive orders are being blocked by the courts, let’s remind our MoCs to stand up for and stand with refugees.
PS: If you'd like to do something concrete to help Syrians right now, please consider donating to The White Helmets (a.k.a. The Syrian Civil Defence). They're the ones who rush in after an attack occurs to help find and rescue survivors. They're real-life heroes.

Reminders: Identify where you're calling from (town and zip code is fine) so they know you're an actual constituent. Only call your own representative. Be concise - the office will get through more calls that way. Be polite and don't argue with the staffer - they don't set policy. If you get a voicemail, then leave a message. And if you get a busy signal -- call back later!
Hi, my name is [Name] from New Orleans, zip code 70018 [or wherever you're from]. I don't need a response.
I'm calling to let [Senator/Rep] NAME know that I want him to support our refugee program, including resettling Syrian refugees. In light of the recent chemical attacks Assad committed against his own people, I believe it's more critical than ever to allow refugees to resettle here and to support UN refugee missions abroad. I'm asking Sen/Rep. to fight any attempt to limit refugees based on their religion or country of origin, as well as vote against any cuts to UN aid programs for refugees.
Thank you for your time and your work answering phones.
