Call of the Day: Provide Feedback on the TrumpCare Vote

TrumpCare passed through the House, in large part due to the tireless efforts of our very own Rep. Steve Scalise, who was in charge of whipping votes in favor of the bill.  Are you angry about the bill's passage?  Anxious?  Scared?  Time to let him know.

Then join us today at 12 PM, on the sidewalk outside Scalise's office at 110 Veterans Blvd as we hold a jazz funeral for his career, which ended the moment he voted in favor of TrumpCare.

WHO TO CALL:

Rep. Steve Scalise (1st District) Washington: (202) 225-3015. and in Metairie: (504) 837-1259

Rep. Cedric Richmond (2nd District) Washington: (202) 225-6636, and in  New Orleans: (504) 288-3777

Reminders: Identify where you're calling from (town and zip code is fine) so they know you're an actual constituent.  Only call your own representative.  Be concise - the office will get through more calls that way.  Be polite and don't argue with the staffer - they don't set policy. If you get a voicemail, then leave a message.  And if you get a busy signal -- call back later!

Sample script-

Hi, my name is [Name] from New Orleans, zip code 70118 [or wherever you're from].  I don't need a response.

I'm calling because I'm disappointed in Rep. Scalise for voting in favor of TrumpCare.  337,800 people in his district have a pre-existing condition who stand to either lose coverage or see their premiums skyrocket.  [Share personal story, if you have it]  This is a terrible bill, and I will remember his vote next November.

Thank you for your time and your hard work answering the phones.
