Call of the Day: Tell Your Senators To Vote NO On The "Better Care Reconciliation Act" (BCRA)

You may have heard that Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, has announced that he's delaying the start of the August recess by two weeks in order to work on a list of Republican priorities, including their stalled health care bill.  You may have also seen that another revision of their health care bill was released yesterday.

It's time for a concerted effort to make it clear to our Senators that we want them to vote NO on the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA, aka TrumpCare).

Senator Bill Cassidy - in Washington, DC at (202) 224-5824

Senator John Kennedy - in Washington, DC at (202) 224-4623

Hi, my name is [Your Name] from New Orleans, zip code [Your Zip Code].

I'm calling because it's my understanding that if the BCRA passes:

188,800 people in Louisiana will lose Medicaid coverage, ... and that

Monthly insurance premiums will rise by 105%, ... and that

58,000 Louisiana children will be uninsured within 5 years, ... and that

Health insurance policies will no longer be required to cover "essential benefits" (like hospitalization, maternity & newborn care, and emergency, lab, mental health and preventive care services), all of which put individuals with pre-existing conditions at risk.

As one of my Senators, ... and I want to make this clear, ... I want the Senator to vote NO on the Better Care Reconciliation Act.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with me, and for letting the Senator know how I want him to vote.
