Last week, Glenn Simpson, the founder of private research firm Fusion GPS, answered questions in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee – for over 10 hours.
Why is the Senate interested in Mr. Simpson? Fusion GPS is the firm that hired former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele to compile the now famous dossier that alleged Trump colluded and conspired with the Russians during the 2016 election… among other more sensational details.
So far, the testimony has remained private, but Judiciary Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley (R - Iowa) was asked at a town hall whether he'd make the testimony public, and he said he'd put the matter to a vote, though the process would be lengthy.
Senator Kennedy is a member of that Judiciary Committee. So call his office today and tell him to vote YES to release the Simpson testimony. The public has a right to know the extent of Russia's influence on the 2016 election.
WHO TO CALL:
Senator John Kennedy: DC OFFICE: (202) 224-4623 and NEW ORLEANS OFFICE (504) 581-6190 <-- NOTE THERE'S NOW A NOLA OFFICE!
Reminders: Identify where you're calling from (town and zip code is fine) so they know you're an actual constituent. Be concise - the office will get through more calls that way. Be polite and don't argue with the staffer - they don't set policy. If you get a voicemail, then leave a message. And if you get a busy signal -- call back later!
Hi, my name is [Your Name] from New Orleans, zip code 70118 [or wherever you're from].
I'm calling to urge Senator Kennedy to vote to release Glenn Simpson's testimony from the Judiciary Committee to the public. The public has a right to know how the Russians influenced the 2016 election, so that we can prevent further intrusions from future elections.
Thank you for your time, and for your hard work answering the phones. Stay safe out there.
