Last Friday, Sept. 28th, after days of tumultuous debate over sexual assault claims made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Senate Judiciary Committee members Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Chris Coons (D-DE) cut a deal to move Kavanaugh's nomination forward with the stipulation that the Senate's final floor vote must be delayed one week until the FBI conducts an additional investigation, "limited in time and scope." The deal's reliability was questionable given that the Senate does not have the power to order an FBI investigation, only the White House can do so. While Trump did order the FBI investigation hours later on Friday evening, NBC News reported on Saturday morning that they severely limited what the FBI was allowed to investigate.
Among the crucial witnesses and issues the White House has blocked the FBI from looking into: — Julie Swetnick, the 3rd woman to come forward with a sexual assault claim — Mark Judge's 1982 summer employer, who could corroborate a key part of Dr. Ford's testimony — Accounts of Kavanaugh's past drinking habits, which could prove he lied to the Senate — New leads that may arise
These gross limitations are presumably not what Senator Flake, and other Senators who supported the delay, expected from this additional investigation. Senators must stay true to their word in wanting a thorough investigation before a final confirmation vote takes place and demand that the White House stop obstructing justice and rescind these limitations. The American public has already suffered through multiple sham Senate hearings. We deserve better than a sham FBI investigation.

Hi, my name is [Your Name] and I'm an active voter from New Orleans, ZIP Code 70118 [Or wherever you’re from].
I'm calling to ask that the Senator publicly demand that the White House rescind its overreaching limits on the FBI investigation of Kavanaugh's sexual assault claims, past drinking habits, and potential perjury. The public deserves to know the full truth about a Supreme Court nominee.
Thank you for your time and attention.
