Even though the House passed legislation to reopen the government on January 3rd, and similar legislation passed unanimously in the Senate on December 21st, Mitch McConnell has refused to schedule a vote in the Senate, and has instead moved on to other legislative agenda items. The Senate's first priority should be ending the government shutdown, and no other legislative business should occur before the government is reopened.
Two calls to make: Senators Kennedy and Cassidy

Hi, my name is [Your Name] and I'm an active voter from New Orleans, ZIP Code 70118 [Or wherever you’re from].
I’m calling in support of the House plan to reopen the government, and I urge the senator to pressure Mitch McConnell to schedule a vote in the Senate. The Senate's first priority should be ending the government shutdown, and no other legislative business should occur before the government is reopened.
And while I have you on the line, … when is the senator going to hold a town hall meeting?
Thank you for your time and attention.
